"I am he master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul"
Words that led off my resignation letter submitted OTD in 2019
While networking in Chicago about a year ago, I had a wonderful meeting with a marketing executive. We had many common work and life experiences and interests. It made for a wonderful conversation as we sat in a meeting room overlooking a beautiful view of the Chicago River.
Toward the end of our time together, I was mildly stunned when he, in passing, stated he assumed that I had been fired from my previous job! Why else would someone inexplicably leave a job after 31 years?
Well, here is why.
October 25th will always have a special meaning to me. For, it was on this day in 2019, that I made arguably the most courageous decision in my professional and personal life ... | Read my LinkedIn article (Oct. 25, 2023)

"The Realities of Using ChatGPT to Write for You – What to Consider When It Comes to Legalities, Reputation, Search and Originality"
ChatGPT – who hasn’t been talking about it? The conversations around the implications of this shiny new object have been endless in the marketing realm over the last few months ... Alarm bells started going off in my head – how will a client know if a writer is actually writing the content they hired them to write – or using ChatGPT to write for them? Will writing content yourself versus allowing a bot to write it now be a differentiator? What about plagiarism and copyright infringement? Can clients get into legal trouble if they accept content written by a chatbot and publish it as their own? What happens when a consultant feeds proprietary client information into the chatbot? | Read blog by Michelle Garrett

"Keep On Keeping On"
Human interest feature article about the intriguing life story of a "non famous" person.
Dave Moomaw spends far more time thinking about Halloween throughout the year than the average person. Thanks to his retirement aligning with a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic, the restless mechanical engineer and toy designer transformed his historic home in East Aurora, New York into a magnificent Halloween display in 2020. The village owns the moniker “Toy Town, USA,” because it is home to Fisher-Price Toys. It soon may become better known for its annual celebration of the fall holiday. | Read inspiring story about perseverance.

"Relationships and Art of the Possible"
I was invited to blog about my participation in the recent Authenica event which was the 50th such experience hosted by the company since its founding in 2014. My intent is to shed light on an event that provided those in attendance with an opportunity to freely share their thoughts. The result was the amazing impact the many stories of inspiration, growth, and perspective from passionate people who leverage their excellence for the greater good had on all of us. It is their knowledge, lessons, and actions that is the story. | Read blog on Authenica.com |
